Greetings. Drive a 1997 discovery with ~70k miles. Recently (3/2008) the battery about one year old (replaced 2/2007) has been losing its charge not allowing the vehicle to start up. In thinking that it was a bad battery, jumped it and brought it over to the mechanic for a pro rated swap out replacement, but the mechanics test results show the

1. Slow engine crank. The 12 volt battery is a vital component of the starting system in Land Rover Discovery. It powers the starter motor that turns over the engine. Disconnect the negative (-) cable from the battery and connect a test light between the cable and the negative post. Use disconnect on + terminal. Place a stop or turn signal bulb with wire leads inbetween harbor freight quick disconnects two ends. Hi all, I have discovery 1 V8 which was off the road for over 12 months due to ignition problems and not working at all. Tried the spider by-pass and stil didn't work.
