So I did a little research into DPF cleaning, and saw a few a number of things regarding the cleaning of a blocked DPF. So with nothing to loose, I took the DPF off the car, which required removing the turbo, and proceeded to clean. Using only water from the hose pipe, fairy liquid and some GUNK engine de-greaser, I started to flush the DPF out. Note: you will still get some soot into your oil, but not as much as with an active EGR. Then just had the EGR and Cooler removed a couple of weeks age, along with doing a Grid Heater delete, and installed a BD Air Horn along with an oil change. The oil is nice and clean now, and the truck breaths better and is even more responsive.
This can be costly as it may also involve changing the engine oil and filter after the manual regeneration due to fuel contamination. A replacement DPF can be very expensive. Some vehicles include a dash switch to allow the driver to follow a specified procedure, including safety requirements to initiate a regeneration when required.
3. If I remove the DPF do I need to purchase a tuner in order to turn the REGEN cycle off? I read some where that people said if I remove the DPF, and the truck goes into REGEN mode without the DPF on it can do damage to the engine. Do NOT remove the DPF withOUT a tuner, PERIOD. It will likely, at some point, go into regen mode and will stay

6.7L Diesel Particulate Filter clogged/ fixed! While towing our heavy trailer in the middle of nowhere Colorado the Sunday before the Labor Day holiday, we experienced the beep beep warning catalyst full and codes for the DPF. Sure enough as designed about ten miles after the first warnings the engine power was reduced to that of a Ford Festiva.

STEP 1: Remove the engine cover and piping, and the sensors from the vehicle. Remove the engine cover and intake piping first, then proceed to the next step. You will need to unplug the EGT and O2 sensor plugs, as well as the pressure sensor plugs. If you do not know where these plugs are, they can be found along with the firewall if you look

Dpf filters are intended to collect soot, which is incompletely burnt or combusted fuel (diesel) These molecules of soot are much larger than ash and therefore are collected in the dpf its fundamental purpose. Obviously a dpf filter can’t just keep collecting these soot deposits and so a method to clean it was devised by the manufacturers. HEAT. A reputable garage can clean your DPF, using the forced regeneration process. In most cases, this will remove the soot so you can drive your car safely. If taking your car for a long drive at a high speed has not resolved the issue, get the filter cleaned by a professional. 7pf3J.
