Cage the Elephant has certainly found their sound with their most recent album, Social Cues, released on April 19. The first single, Ready to Let Go, was released at the end of January after a tease of the song was posted on the band’s Instagram story earlier in the month. Tell Me I’m Pretty is a mixed bag; for every bold new trail blazed sits a dull, uninteresting detour. It’s clear that Cage the Elephant are committed to this more classic-sounding aesthetic, but it’s about time these indy kidz tighten the bolts before this sound’s novelty disappears. As they say, there ain’t no rest for the wicked.Create and get +5 IQ. Modern-rock stars Cage the Elephant take a turn on Social Cues, their fifth studio album. And the bill comes due with a vengeance. “I was promised the keys to an empire,” singer Matt Shultz
Best Rock Album. Bring Me The Horizon were my tip to take out the GRAMMY for amo (their second nomination ever) but with competition like Cage The Elephant (Social Cues), The Cranberries (In The End), I Prevail (Trauma) and Rival Sons (Feral Roots) it was going to be hard, especially with the chances of The Cranberries scoring a posthumous award for frontwoman Dolores O’Riordan‘s final The Cage the Elephant frontman not only went through a divorce but also lost two of his best friends to suicide during the recording of the band's fifth full-length album. But rather than dwell on his tragic circumstances, Shultz focused on the positives that tend to get dismissed during periods of personal turmoil. C1MUN.
