Also, Los Santos is very detailed and a living world while the ETS2 map, especially the stock map without mods, often looks like there was no time for designing a realistic looking map. If you wanna get DLCs for ETS2, then you will definitely have a bigger map than ATS. The base map is bigger as well. I definitely recommend the DLCs. Get them in the order they were released, watching the quality of the maps increase will give you hours of pleasureable driving time.. MK2555GSFX.
yes, definately worth it. the 3-state base map covers roughly the same area as the base map on ETS2. the 3 paid for DLC states almost double the worldspace and the cargo DLC's add extra depth/dimension to the gameplay. plus they are all on sale at the moment so you could probably get the entire west coast and some cargo DLC for the cost of just Euro Truck Simulator 2 Mods | American Truck America map. Simply take a look at Germany in Euro Truck Simulator. They simply copy and pasted 2 interchanges and generic cities that all look the same. But now, they're doing custom interchanges based off real ones and modeling individual buildings. But their most recent stuff, ie. Oregon and the Baltic's in ETS2 is amazing. I3WL.
